iBUYPOWER and HYTE Honkai Star Rail Limited Edition Silver Wolf Y70 Case
At the most recent Anime Expo, I had the opportunity to tour the iBUYPOWER booth and see the Limited Edition Silver Wolf Y70 Case firsthand. Thanks to our friends at iBUYPOWER, I was able to get my hands on this bundle for a closer look. As a fan and regular player of Honkai Star Rail, I can confidently say that this case is a true blend of beauty and passion.
Packaging
Starting with the box, which is a collector’s item in itself, it features a retro aesthetic reminiscent of an older gaming device. An adorable 8-bit version of Silver Wolf stands next to a PC case, with an inscription above that reads, “Achievement Unlocked: You are now a certified enjoyer of a Limited Edition Silver Wolf Y70 Case!” The pixel art is charming, and the packaging is secure.
Upon opening the box, I was greeted by a set of Silver Wolf-themed fan grills that can be attached to the case, along with an acrylic keychain modeled after the popular in-game curio, Punklorde Mentality. Both items are part of the bundle.
Case Design
Moving on to the case itself, it remains as stunning as when I first saw it in July at the Anime Expo. The case is sizable, similar to the standard Y70, but stands out with its incredible artwork from the game.
This limited edition doesn’t include a display that some Y70s have, but Silver Wolf has never looked better. From her two official poses to her cute chibi depiction, it’s a reminder of why she is an essential character in my various team compositions in the game. The “Allow Changes?” power button adds a delightful touch.
On one side, there’s a simple yet unique striped pattern with purple and blue accents, topped off with a small chibi Silver Wolf gaming while chewing gum, embodying the true gamer spirit. Overall, it’s a beautiful case that aligns perfectly with Silver Wolf’s personality.
Interior Features
Beyond aesthetics, the case offers practical functionality. While I haven’t set up this case yet to avoid showcasing my cable-management skills prematurely, I inspected its features and plan to build a PC with it later.
The interior sports a black and purple color scheme, consistent with Silver Wolf’s theme. The back panel features a limited-edition tag of the “WANTED” Bounty from the game, alongside a HYTE logo.
Similar to the standard Y70, the top and front panels can be removed without screws, facilitating easy installation of components. There’s ample space for fans, including floor cooling, which is beneficial for a gaming PC. Both air and water cooling options are supported, and the case includes a color-matched PCIE 4.0 riser cable.
HYTE claims that this case can accommodate even the largest graphics cards, and given its size, this seems accurate. The interior is sturdy, preventing bending issues, and there’s plenty of space to prevent overheating. Drive management is facilitated by ejectable floating storage sleds, and the top panel is easily removable.
Cable management is straightforward, with the ability to tuck cables behind the side panel. The case comes with velcro straps, routing channels, and tie-down points to assist in organizing cables. Technical specifications are available on HYTE’s website.
Firstly, I’d like to thank the staff at iBUYPOWER for providing the opportunity to review such a fantastic case. My impressions remain consistent with my initial encounter in Los Angeles this past July. To reiterate, it is a must-buy for any Honkai Star Rail fan with some money to spare (the case bundle is priced at $299.99). For the price, you receive a product crafted with passion and thoughtful design; it’s not a mere cash grab. The meticulous workmanship is evident throughout. As an infamous hero once said, “It was perfect. Perfect. Everything, down to the last minute details…”
HYTE recently concluded the pre-order period, but keep an eye out for future availability. For Honkai Star Rail fans, this is a well-made and beautiful item that could last a long time. In addition to the case bundle, you can also purchase the keycap set and desk pad bundle or just the desk pad. The 3-year warranty is an added bonus, and I look forward to building a proper setup with it.
